Banned Books Week starts October 4!

This year's theme is "Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read." In 2025, over 7,000 books were targeted by organized book ban campaigns. To combat the growing pressure of book censorship, visit your favorite branch from Oct. 4-10 to check out the most challenged books of 2025, including A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass, Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo and Looking for Alaska by John Greene.

Haunted Home Makeover

Looking to (pumpkin) spice up your home this October? Attend a one-hour session at 2 pm or 6:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Fort Thomas Branch to create your own spooky home decor. A variety of projects and materials are available while supplies last. No registration required.

Curbside Trick or Treat

Celebrate Halloween with CCPL! On Saturday, Oct. 17 from 6-7:30 pm, the library staff at the Newport Branch will be dressed up as our favorite characters and creatures handing out candy, books and prizes! Participants can drive or walk through different stations to collect unique treats, including a special surprise for adults. This event is outdoors, rain or shine.

Do you hear weird bumps in the night? Is the house really just settling? We can help you answer those questions and more at this fun and spooky interactive event at the Newport Branch on Monday, Oct. 19 from 6-8 pm.
